This course is aimed at plumbing and heating engineers wishing to install Vented and Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems to comply with Building Regulations and Standards. Successful completion of the program allows the you/business to register with a competent person scheme allowing self certification of unvented hot water storage systems.

  • You will attend for 2 days at the National Gas Training Centre at our Halbeath Campus
  • Certificates are valid for 5 years. Holders are eligible for reassessment within 6 months of expiry.
  • It should be noted that training is not a prerequisite for assessment.

The program is delivered over 2 days incorporating the following:
  • Comprehensive training across four modules on day 1 Vented and Unvented Systems
  • Design and Installation
  • Maintenance: Compliance and other Building Regulations)followed by three assessments on day 2
  • The assessments comprise one practical exercise and two theory papers and you must successfully pass all three assessments to achieve the qualification and competency card
